In this EVA, students have been chosen to design and construct a new colony on the Red Planet. This planet was selected as the sight for NASA's next colony because its atmospheric, topographic and geological components closely match what is found on Earth.
NASA is inviting interested parties to submit a model of a space colony module, which will be able to interface with other modules to simulate a fully functioning, self-contained space colony.
Students use interconnecting building tools (Using EV3 Lego robotics and Zoob Galax-Z parts) to build their part of the space colony model according to specifications. Each team has a budget from which to work.
